UCS College Group awarded prestigious Clean Energy Technical Excellence College status

📆 Tuesday 14th April

UCS College Group has been awarded prestigious Technical Excellence College (TEC) status in Clean Energy, as part of the government’s £175 million investment in 19 new TECs across England to power Britain’s future workforce.

This news marks a major milestone for the South West and firmly positioning the region at the heart of the UK’s green skills revolution.

Granted to further education colleges that demonstrate outstanding specialism in priority technical areas, TEC status recognises UCS College Group’s deep expertise in clean energy, nuclear and low‑carbon technologies, and its track record of working in partnership with industry on nationally significant projects

Being awarded Technical Excellence College status in Clean Energy is a huge vote of confidence in UCS College Group and in the South West. It recognises the role we are playing in the UK’s green skills agenda, not only in nuclear training but in  emerging technologies such as battery manufacture, solar power and on and offshore wind, helping to place the UK firmly at the forefront of developing the workforce needed to deliver net zero.

This status will enable us to work even more closely with employers to create clear pathways into high‑value green careers, attract investment, and support UK plc. Most importantly, it means people in our communities can access world‑class training and real opportunities in clean energy industries, right here on their doorstep.
