Bridgwater College Level 3 Sport & Exercise Science and Level 3 Sports Coaching Year 2 students enjoyed an exciting university experience day at Cardiff Metropolitan University, gaining valuable insight into studying sport at Higher Education level.
Students explored specialist sports science facilities and took part in practical Biomechanics & Fitness Programming and Rehabilitation sessions. Using advanced laboratory equipment and technology, they experienced first-hand how sport science is applied to analyse performance, support rehabilitation and develop effective training programmes.
Visits like this give our students a fantastic opportunity to experience sport science at university level and see how their learning is applied in real-world settings. Using specialist facilities and taking part in practical sessions helps them understand the opportunities available beyond college.

Upon arriving at Cardiff Met University, I was unsure about what to expect.
We took part in various sporting tests using high tech equipment, this really gave me an understanding to advanced sports teams and how they use testing to make and alter training plans for athletes.
The campus is fitted with top tier facilities built for many sports within their University teams. And after talking with various staff members regarding courses, I came away from the day already thinking about potentially returning to study Sport in Higher Education.

I found the visit to Cardiff Met University really interesting as I got to experience different fitness tests and have a look around all of the sports facilities that they offer.
I also enjoyed hearing what the volunteers had to say as it gave me a better understanding of what the Sports & Exercise Science course is like at University.
