Cannington College students are celebrating strong results in T Levels, BTECs and other technical and land‑based qualifications, with learners progressing into careers and higher study in sectors critical to the region and the UK’s clean energy and sustainability ambitions.
Students in the Nuclear & Clean Energy Department achieved a 100% pass rate, with 76% gaining Distinction profile grades and 38% achieving Distinction*. Many will now progress to highly sought‑after apprenticeships and degrees, including:
- Nuclear Engineering Degree Apprenticeships with EDF, SDG and NRS
- Nuclear Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeships with EDF
- Engineering Technical Support Technician roles with SDG
- ECITB Welding Scholarship with UCS College Group
- Nuclear Engineering degrees in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Control with University Centre Somerset.
On the land‑based side of the College, students have also secured exceptional results and impressive destinations such as:
- Zoo Management degree at Reaseheath College.
- Dog Grooming apprenticeship at the Country Dog Hotel.
- Equine Science at the University of Limerick, Ireland.
- Agricultural Management Degree at University Centre Somerset.
These results show the strength of our programmes here at Cannington. We are preparing our students to move into roles and apprenticeships that support clean energy, food production and infrastructure – all vital to the future prosperity of Somerset and the UK.
