Bridgwater College students raise the roof as FAME lights up the stage

📆 Friday 12 June
A man and woman on a stage, man holding book and gesturing, woman smiling and looking up.

Students from Bridgwater College brought the house down last night with a high-energy, emotionally charged production of FAME, showcasing exceptional talent that underlines the College’s growing reputation in performing arts.

Students performed to packed auditorium, including representatives from industry, local arts organisations and talent scouts, with the show combining powerful vocal performances, polished choreography and confident acting, with professional-standard production values.

The cast, crew and creative team are part of Bridgwater College’s performing arts programmes, which continue to deliver outstanding progression into some of the country’s leading conservatoires and drama schools. This year’s second-year students have already secured an impressive range of offers following competitive auditions, including:

  • Luana and Sienna – Performers College
  • Maisy – Stella Mann College of Performing Arts
  • Ruby – Jelly Studios
  • Paige – Italia Conti
  • Georgia and Florrie – Bird College
  • Jessica Squires – Bath Spa University (Primary Education)

FAME is a demanding show – vocally, physically and emotionally – and our students rose to the challenge brilliantly. The standard of performance would not look out of place on a professional stage.

Deputy Head of Performing Arts

We’re incredibly proud of their achievements and of the destinations they’re progressing to. It’s wonderful for younger students, schools and families locally to see just how far talent can take you.

Jason Gunningham

Principal, Bridgwater College

The production of FAME is the culmination of a year’s intensive work on and off stage, with students taking responsibility not only for performance, but also for aspects of staging, technical operation and front of house, helping to prepare them for careers in the wider creative industries.
