Innovation Huddle – Lean Manufacturing

📆 Tuesday 13 October
🕕 12:00pm – 12:45pm

Innovation Huddle: Explore how lean manufacturing can protect heritage craft skills, share challenges, and shape future solutions.

Join us for our upcoming Innovation Huddle, an interactive online discussion exploring how lean manufacturing principles can help protect, strengthen, and future-proof the specialist heritage craft skills that are vital to the UK’s creative and manufacturing sectors.

Hosted by the Future Skills & Growth Team alongside our Deputy Heads of Apprenticeships, this collaborative session will bring together heritage craft employers from across the UK, including organisations such as Mulberry, Sassi Holford, Cameron Balloons and Bristol Uniforms, to share sector challenges, opportunities and best practice.

This event will also explore the potential development of a new apprenticeship standard, designed to support talent attraction, development and retention within specialist heritage craft industries. As this would be a new standard for both our organisation and the sector, employer insight is critical. We are keen to hear directly from businesses about current workforce challenges, future skills needs and the type of training provision that would deliver the greatest impact.

Through open discussion and real-world examples, attendees will have the opportunity to influence the development of a programme that could help transform workforce development across the sector, safeguarding specialist skills while creating clear progression pathways for future talent.

Whether you’re looking to strengthen your talent pipeline, preserve specialist expertise, improve operational efficiency, or help shape the future of skills development in your industry, this Innovation Huddle provides a valuable platform to share your views, learn from peers and contribute to meaningful change.

Please confirm your attendance in advance.

We look forward to welcoming you.
