Get hands-on in the workshop with our Digital Infrastructure club. This free, 5-week practical course is designed for students in Years 9-11. You won’t just talk about tech, but physically strip down PCs, wire your own cables and test enterprise-style servers.
What’s in it for me?
- Hands-on time in real college tech labs
- Practical skills that go well beyond what you’re learning in school
- Gain the BRIDGWATER COLLEGE DIGITAL FUTURES AWARD to boost your CV and college application.
Whether you’re looking into future careers in cyber security, software engineering or system architecture—or just love tinkering with hardware—this programme lets you see what path you could follow after school.
What will I get up to?
- Week 1: The Blueprint — Decoding modern hardware specs and how systems talk to each other.
- Week 2: The Teardown — Strip a desktop PC down to the chassis and rebuild it component by component.
- Week 3: The Global Grid — How local networks and the internet actually route data without crashing.
- Week 4: Hardwired — Cut, crimp, and test your own functional high-speed Ethernet cable to keep.
- Week 5: Mission Control — Configure and spin up a mini live server environment.
