UCS College Group is proud to celebrate a highly successful partnership with Taunton Jobcentre Plus, supporting the opening of the new B&M store in Taunton.
What began as a time-sensitive recruitment request quickly developed into an excellent example of effective partnership working, delivering real results for both the employer and local jobseekers.
In January, UCS College Group delivered a Sector-Based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) designed to help candidates build confidence, develop key retail skills, and prepare fully for the employer’s recruitment process. The programme attracted fifteen motivated participants, all of whom benefited from tailored support and employer-focused preparation.
The outcomes were outstanding. Many participants progressed to interview stage, and seven candidates were successfully offered roles within the new B&M store, filling a variety of positions ahead of the store opening.
This success highlights the positive impact of SWAPs within our local community. They play a vital role in supporting people back into employment while also providing employers with a reliable pipeline of motivated, work-ready candidates, particularly valuable during periods of recruitment challenge.
