What is ASPIRE?

Bridgwater College’s A Level ASPIRE programme is proud to announce our Year 10 essay competition. This is a unique opportunity for ambitious local students to showcase their critical thinking, develop academic writing skills, and engage with the most pressing questions facing society today. Whether you are passionate about technology, education, or social dynamics, we want to hear your voice.

Competition overview

The ASPIRE programme is designed to stretch and challenge high-achieving students. This competition invites you to step beyond the standard curriculum and explore one of three provocative themes:

  • Technology: Has it truly improved the quality of modern life?
  • Education: Are universities still relevant in preparing young people for success in modern society?
  • Connection: Does social media connect society, or divide it?

We are looking for independent thinkers who can build a persuasive argument, use evidence effectively, and offer original insights into real-world issues.
